I usually begin the pendant with a gemstone, an intaglio, or an engraved piece of metal, then consider the right setting - bezel, flush set, foil back, or claw set - and how it should hang, whether shorter or longer. And then there’s a Danish saying I return to often: “the dot over the i.” For me, that final detail is finding the perfect chain.

I love chain - its tight connections, its flow, and the strength it needs to hold everything together. It sets the tone for the entire piece.
